Support Our Work

We don’t want anyone in the pews, the parish, or the surrounding community to feel alone, ashamed, and afraid if they or someone they love is struggling with any type of addiction. The Church is a place of love and mercy; healing and hope for everyone — especially those who feel ostracized.

At AFIRE, we are committed to providing educational and transformational programs and materials that reduce stigma and provide healing and hope. We need your help to accomplish our mission. Scroll down to see details about our newest project and current fundraising campaign. Thank you!

CURRENT FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS

1. General Fund

Our goal this Lent (2025) is to raise $5,000 to cover some of of our operating expenses, but we are also in need of a new laptop computer and a media plan (video, images, and music) for our presentations and prayer services. Most of our services are provided at no cost, and we are currently 100% volunteer. But as you know, everything costs money. Our operating expenses include fees for our websites, Zoom subscription, DVD printing, administrative costs (accounting, printing, copying, trademarks, etc.), and much more.

2. Catholic Evidence-Based Recovery Program

The addiction crisis continues to devastate individuals, families, and communities, with relapse rates remaining high despite medical and psychological interventions. Many faith-based recovery programs lack integration with evidence-based methodologies, while secular treatments often overlook the role of spirituality in healing. This disconnect leaves individuals without a comprehensive, holistic approach to recovery.

The Graced Collaboration program addresses this gap by uniting Ignatian Spirituality with neuroscience and psychology, creating an integrated faith-based recovery model. It offers structured spiritual exercises, evidence-based tools, and digital resources, making Catholic addiction recovery both accessible and research-driven. This project provides a critical opportunity to reshape addiction recovery by equipping clergy, counselors, and individuals with a proven, spiritually grounded framework. By bridging faith and science, Graced Collaboration empowers participants to achieve sustained sobriety, deeper spiritual transformation, and lasting healing.

We’ve done years of research, but now we need your help to make this important and unique addiction recovery and relapse prevention program a reality. Our dream is that parishes, churches, and other organizations worldwide may be able to offer this evidence-based program to those who are seeking help to break the cycle of addictions, and/or for those who would like to maintain their recovery and prevent relapse. We believe strongly that this program will foster a new evangelization through the voices and lives of the recovered and their loved ones.

Thank you for your support. This is a big undertaking, and it will be completely impossible without you! Every donation counts. God bless you for your generosity.

How will your money be used for this fundraising campaign?

Website and mobile app development and maintenance, professional consulting fees, media licensing (image, video, music, etc.), layout and design for printed materials, printing fees, legal fees (trademark, copyrights, etc.), operating expenses, and more!
